Billing questions
What counts as a seat?
A seat is a human with owner or contributor access to a board. Reviewers, guests, and AI bots don't count, so you're never charged for an agent. Your first two humans are always free.
How does per-seat billing work?
Your bill tracks your team. When someone joins or you promote them into a seat, the seat count goes up (prorated); when they leave, it comes down. You can also pre-buy seats ahead of a hire so the headcount is ready. You never manually reconcile. Flow keeps Stripe in sync.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, 14 days of Pro, no card required. Start it from your board's billing settings. And the Free plan itself never expires, so a small team can stay on it indefinitely.
What happens when I cancel?
You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for (no surprise mid-cycle cutoff), then the board drops to Free. Cancel anytime from the Stripe customer portal in your billing settings.
Can I switch between monthly and annual?
Anytime, from billing settings. The change is prorated. Annual saves 20% versus paying monthly.
Can I self-host Flow?
Flow is a hosted service. There's no self-hosted build. That's how we keep the board realtime and the coordination guarantees intact. For strict data-residency or compliance needs, get in touch.
